I have been captivated. Captivated completely. By what, you may ask? Well, by this:
I know I know. I am like the last person to be held hostage by a drama serial. Even my mum commented that I have been watching less TV after i went to UK (4 years without a TV does this to you). But this is the timeline of my obsession with this show:
Thursday 17/8 - First Ep. Laugh like mad. Friday 18/8 - 2nd Ep. Continue laughing like mad. Actually was disappointed when the ep ended. Monday 21/8 - 3rd Ep. Started looking online for information about this show. Ended up reading spoilers and decided that I should consider buying to accelerate the "screening". Started discussing with Shan whether to buy it or not. Conclusion was yes, and next discussion was where to buy it. Decision was made. Tuesday 22/8 - Went to IMM. Bought said series at Laserflair and went home. Plonked in front of the TV at 4pm, and started to watch from where I stopped (ep. 3). Dinner was in front of the TV too. Went on like this till 5am in the morning. Managed ep. 3 to 14. Wednesday 23/8 - Woke up at 1ish. Had breakfast, and then started my final two episodes. 2 solid hours in front of the TV. Wanted to savour the last 2 hours of the show. Completely. After that went online and then DL-ed the songs related to the drama. Put them on repeat. Watched ep 4 again at 10pm on TV with Dad.
Scary yeah? I thought so too.
But why do I love it so?
(1) This is a bloody hilarious show, considering that it has been listed under the genre of "soap opera". (2) Our heroine in this show, Sam-soon is v v v straight forward, very direct. And well, I think I respect her for some of the things that she is willing to do. Maybe secretly in me, there may be a tiny bit of wanting to have some aspects of her character. (3) The ending is realistic. It is not a typical fairy tale ending, that's what makes it realistic. It's like Overtime, my other all fav Jap show. The ending is sad, which is why it is realistic. This is what life is about right? You don't always get what you want in life. (4) Even if u don't like the show/storyline. Watch it for the guys. The three men in the show are gorgeous (esp Hyeon Bin!) (though I can't help wondering how much plastic surgery they had done to their faces).
Now here comes the plug: It's on Channel U every weeknight at 10pm! GO watch it.
